Techniques and Materials
The decorative products of HurShima Gallery include items that are practical for everyday life: various boxes for jewelry, cosmetics, tea bags, glasses, and watches, as well as small suitcases and trays for serving drinks, nuts, and more.
In the production process of these items, different techniques are used, and sometimes several techniques are combined in the making of a single product. These techniques include:
- Patina: The art of antiquing objects to evoke a sense of nostalgia and stir aesthetic appreciation by using color and texture to create a worn or oxidized appearance.
- Transfer: A glossy nylon sheet onto which the selected design is printed using special printers. Because these sheets are adhesive, the design can easily be transferred onto the product with the help of water.
- Relief Imitation (Pseudo-Carving): Creating volumes that resemble traditional wood carving by embossing the surface of the product.
- Speed Painting: One of the most captivating painting techniques. In this method, several different colors are picked up with a single brushstroke, and with one motion a part of the painting is filled in, while simultaneously creating highlights and shading.
All manners of materials such as acrylic and oil-based paints, texture paste, candle, transfer sheets, tissue paper, stencil, crackle medium, resin etc. are used.
